چکیده
Renewable natural and synthetic basic substances can be used to produce biodegradable polymers. Several methods of the polymerization terpene limonene have been evaluated. The evaluated are radical polymerization, cationic thiol-ene polymerization. free-radical with azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as an initiator was carried out. out using AlCl3 a catalyst. copolymerization mercaptoethanol, 2-mercaptoethyl ether without AIBN studied it also shown that proceed spontaneously. resulting compounds were investigated by NMR FTIR spectroscopy. values molecular weight characteristics samples obtained presented, such as: number-average weight, hydrodynamic radius characteristic viscosity, depending on method production. coefficients α (molecular shape) in Mark–Kuhn–Houwink equation determined according established viscosity. According obtained, AC molecules solution parameters 0.14 0.26, which corresponds good solvent shape-dense coil.

The use of polymers from natural resources can bring many benefits for novel polymeric nanoparticle systems. Such polymers have a variety of beneficial properties such as biodegradability and biocompatibility, they are readily available on large scale and at low cost. As the amount of fossil fuels decrease, their application becomes more interesting even if characterization is in many cases mor...

Nanocomposite polymers are prepared using a new sustainable materials synthesis process in which d-Limonene functions simultaneously both as a solvent for recycling polystyrene (PS) waste and as a monomer that undergoes UV-catalyzed thiol-ene polymerization reactions with polythiol comonomers to afford polymeric products composed of precipitated PS phases dispersed throughout elastomeric poly(t...
متن کاملSustainable Polymers Derived From Naturally Occurring Materials
Nearly 95% of monomers or chemical intermediates used today are based on fossilized carbon such as coal and petroleum. This has resulted in a high rate of depletion of fossilized reserves, continuous escalation in petroleum prices, environmental impact with the increase in emission of greenhouse gases, and accumulation of non-biodegradable waste on earth. Current global main challenges are movi...
